Ermine is the smallest fur we carry and historically the most prestigious. The white winter coat of the short-tailed weasel, with its distinctive black tail tip, was reserved for royalty and remains the fur of coronation robes and heraldry.
Winter white and natural white
Weasels turn white in winter, and the winter coat is what most buyers want. We stock winter white, the full prime winter pelt, brilliantly white with the black tail tip intact, and natural white, clean white pelts at a lower price point.
Both are offered in Premium, Medium and Imperfect grades. Typical length runs 11 to 16 inches. These are genuinely small pelts, which is the point - ermine is used in quantity, pieced together, or applied as accent and trim rather than used singly.

Ermine suits trim and edging, historical and ceremonial costume, doll and miniature work, fly tying, jewelry and educational collections. Professionally tanned, harvested legally and ethically in the United States and Canada.
Buying in quantity? Damaged-grade weasel in bulk lots appears regularly in our bargain bin, and it is by far the most economical way to buy ermine for projects where the pelts are cut anyway.
